Ziro, April 29 2025: In line with the ongoing Zero Drugs Ziro campaign, the Lower Subansiri Police made a significant breakthrough by arresting a suspected drug peddler and seizing 14.3 grams of suspected heroin.
Acting on credible intelligence, the police team, under the close guidance of Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra, apprehended one Nada Nipa (33) from Hija village. The operation was carried out on April 29, 2025, at around 6:10 PM.
A dedicated team comprising Inspector A. Pansa, Sub-Inspector J. Yomcha, ASI K. Leriak, and Constable N.P. Suyang was formed under the supervision of SDPO Ziro to carry out the operation.
Upon identifying and thoroughly searching the suspect’s residence at Hija village, the team recovered 11 plastic vials containing a total of 14.3 grams of suspected heroin from his possession.
All legal procedures, including seizure and documentation, were conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate and independent witnesses.
A case has been registered under ZPS Case No. 27/2025 under Sections 21(a) and 27(a) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
The arrest marks another step forward in the district police’s unwavering efforts to make Ziro a drug-free zone.
