In a commendable effort to foster reading habits, personality development, and academic growth among school children, the Ziro-based NGO Eingko Foundation launched the first edition of its interaction programme under the initiative Project Purisa (Let’s Read) at the Government Upper Primary School, Sululya.

Held in the school’s Library Room, the event brought together students, educators, and community members for an enriching session led by Shri Tai Arun, Trade Development Officer (TDO)-cum-DIPRO In-charge, Ziro, who graced the occasion as the Resource Person.

During the session, Shri Arun shared his personal journey, motivating students to dream big and stay resilient despite challenges. Using a PowerPoint presentation, he highlighted effective methods for improving reading and writing skills, cultivating discipline, and overcoming both physical and intellectual obstacles.

Drawing from the lives of inspiring figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, and Shri Hibu Robin—the first IPS officer from Arunachal Pradesh—he encouraged students to lead value-driven lives and steer clear of bad habits and substance abuse. Emphasizing the importance of education and character-building, he assured the Foundation of his continued support, including the donation of motivational and informative books to its library.

Miss Tage Onia, founder of the Eingko Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shri Arun for his impactful engagement with the students. “His life story and insights are a source of inspiration for the young minds of our community,” she said.

Established in 2023, the Eingko Foundation has been actively working in the areas of environmental conservation and child education in the Ziro Valley. It operates a community library at the Government Upper Primary School in Sululya, offering a rich collection of educational and motivational literature aimed at nurturing young learners.

Project Purisa is set to become a recurring programme aimed at shaping future leaders through the power of reading and personal development.
