Smti Oli Perme, APCS (AG), who recently assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri District, held her first official interaction-cum-review meeting on Wednesday at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, Ziro. The meeting brought together key administrative officers, including the Superintendent of Police and Heads of Departments, to assess the district’s law and order situation and its preparedness for the ongoing monsoon season.

In light of the recent damages caused by heavy rainfall and landslides, the new DC placed strong emphasis on strengthening the Monsoon Preparedness and Response Mechanism. She directed critical works departments such as PWD, RWD, PHED, Urban Development & Housing, and Highway to stay on high alert, ensuring that both manpower and machinery remain on standby to handle any disaster-related emergencies swiftly.

DC Perme specifically instructed the Highway and PWD departments to keep National Highway 13 (NH-13) clear and operational at all times, citing its strategic importance as a lifeline for the people of Kamle and Upper Subansiri districts.

Addressing concerns over essential supplies, she reviewed the current stock positions of food and medicine. The District Food & Civil Supplies Officer (DF&CSO) and District Medical Officer (DMO) were directed to maintain adequate reserves to cater to any unforeseen circumstances during the monsoon.

Foreseeing possible emergencies in the coming weeks, DC Perme advised all officers to refrain from taking leave or leaving station, barring exceptional medical emergencies. She emphasized that a united and alert administration is crucial in safeguarding lives and ensuring uninterrupted public services during the challenging monsoon season.

Reaffirming her vision for proactive governance, DC Oli Perme called upon all officers to work in synergy and support the district administration’s efforts to transform Lower Subansiri into one of the top-performing districts in the state.

The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all departments towards upholding law and order, enhancing service delivery, and prioritizing the safety and welfare of the public through robust disaster readiness.
