Ziro, March 5, 2025 – The Tanii Supuñ Dukuñ (TSD) has issued a clarification regarding recent discussions and remarks circulating on social media and public forums about the delay in the oath-taking ceremony and transfer of power following the 2025 TSD elections.
According to TSD, the Election Commission, led by Er. Taru Mahi, successfully conducted the elections and declared the results on February 16, 2025. However, a complaint was lodged by Mr. Nani Tacho of Reru village on February 19, alleging violations of Article 8(6) and (8) of the TSD Constitution and Bye-Laws. In response, the outgoing Central Executive Body (CEB 2021-24) requested an inquiry into the matter.
Subsequently, the Governing Council constituted an Inquiry Committee under Article 10(d) to investigate the complaint, with a report due by March 10, 2025. In its advisory note dated March 5, the Governing Council has instructed the outgoing CEB to proceed with the oath-taking and handing-over ceremony only after the inquiry report is submitted.
TSD also clarified that the newly elected CEB has not yet been officially handed over power, and any participation by its members in public programs is at their own discretion and not on behalf of TSD.
