Pilot Study on Stomach Cancer to Be Conducted in Ziro; ASU Appeals for Volunteers

Ziro, Feb 28: With Ziro witnessing a high prevalence of gastric stomach cancer cases, a pilot study on the disease will be conducted by Dr. B. Baruah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, from March 5 to 8, 2025. The study aims to analyze the causes of stomach cancer in the region, requiring 200 volunteers for participation.

As per the study design, participants aged between 18 to 60 years will undergo Upper GI endoscopy and other necessary tests at Gyati Taka General Hospital, Hapoli. In this regard, the Apatani Students’ Union (ASU) has appealed to the residents of Ziro Valley to come forward voluntarily for the test and contribute to the research.
